Product Description
| Product Name | Human Protein Kinase A, Catalytic Subunit Alpha (PKA Cα, cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha isoform 1) |
| Overview | Human Protein Kinase A (PKA) catalytic subunit alpha (Cα), also known as cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha isoform 1, is a serine/threonine kinase that mediates the cellular effects of cyclic AMP (cAMP) signaling. PKA Cα is the principal catalytic subunit of the PKA holoenzyme and plays a fundamental role in regulating metabolism, gene expression, cell growth, and differentiation through phosphorylation of diverse protein substrates. Upon cAMP binding to the regulatory subunits, the catalytic subunits are released and activated, enabling phosphorylation of target proteins throughout the cell. |
