| Description |
mRNA Cap 2'-O-Methyltransferase catalyzes the methylation of the ribose 2'-hydroxyl group of the first transcribed nucleotide (Cap 0) using S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) as the methyl donor, converting it to a 2'-O-methylated cap structure (Cap 1). The addition of a Cap 1 structure enhances mRNA translation efficiency and reduces recognition by innate immune sensors in mammalian cells. This enzyme is purified from an E. coli strain engineered to overexpress the vaccinia virus PAPS gene. |
